When I was little I wanted to be a doctor. When I found out they didn't offer degrees in becoming a doctor like Dr. Seuss I scrapped the idea and decided I would become a marginal entertainer on the radio. I am still working toward that.

What I do know is the amazing concepts, ideas, and instructional humor of Dr. Seuss will take the stage Thursday through Sunday at UL's Angelle Hall auditorium. If you're ready to exercise your spirit and imagination then you'll want to be in the audience when  Christian Youth Theater presents Seussical. As you might imagine it's Dr. Seuss stories set to a jaunty and lively soundtrack of song and dance.

What's even more amazing is all of the performers are young people. The Seussical cast runs the gamut from high school seniors to elementary school kids. They will blow you away with their talent and confidence.

Performances will run Thursday through Sunday with five shows scheduled. The show will open Thursday evening at 7 PM. There will be a performance on Friday at 7 PM, two shows on Saturday at 2 PM and 7 PM and the finale will be Sunday at 3 PM.

According to the CYT Lafayette website, "Seussical is a fantastical, magical, musical extravaganza". I would agree. You'll meet The Cat in the Hat, Horton the Elephant, Lazy Mayzie and others. Oh, the places you'll go in your heart and in your mind if you attend this incredible performance.

I can personally recommend CYT performances for you and your family. I would also encourage you to encourage your youngster to become part of CYT. Whether it's for a Summer camp or performance your children will love what they learn. They will also develop life-long friendships and all this is done with a kind hearted Christian spirit.
