Deputies Arrest Pair Of Drug Dealers In A School Zone
Concerned citizens and undercover narcotics agents all did their parts in an investigation that led to the arrests of two Breaux Bridge men.
St. Martin Parish Sheriff's spokesperson Maj. Ginny Higgins said 31-year-old Travis Jean-Lewis and 30-year-old Jeffery Journet were arrested on a host of drug charges this morning.
Citizens near a Park Avenue residence in Breaux Bridge reported suspicions of illegal drug activity in the area which is in a school zone.
Narcotics agents conducted an undercover purchase of illegal drugs from the suspects. Upon executing a warrant at the home, agents discovered methamphetamine, marijuana, U.S. Currency, and materials used to package and distribute illegal drugs.
Jean-Lewis was charged with:
- Possession With The Intent To Distribute Schedule II CDS (Methamphetamine)
- Possession of Schedule I CDS (Marijuana)
- Possession of Schedule V CDS (Codeine/Promethazine mixture)
- Violation of Uniform Controlled Dangerous Substances Law; drug free zone
- Transactions involving proceeds from drug offenses
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Journet was charged with:
- Monetary Instrument Abuse (Counterfeit Money)
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Following their arrests, they were booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center on the above charges. At the time of this release, no bond had been set.
