According to Lafayette Consolidated Government, Portions of the northwest-bound left-turn and through lanes within the 100 block of Doucet Road are scheduled to be closed from January 22 through February 11, 2025 to allow for sewer infrastructure repairs.

A contractor for Lafayette Utilities System will be performing the repairs within the roadway. Motorists traveling northwestbound on Doucet Road approaching Johnston Street will encounter lane reductions prior to the work area.

LCG’s Traffic, Roads, and Bridges Department urges drivers to proceed with caution through the work zone for their safety and the safety of workers.

Drivers should consider planning alternative routes to minimize delays and avoid congestion, especially during peak morning and evening travel hours. It’s also important to note that the repair schedule could be delayed or adjusted depending on weather conditions.

Stay tuned for updates on this project, and remember to allow extra travel time if you plan to drive through the area. These improvements are part of ongoing efforts to maintain and upgrade Lafayette’s essential infrastructure.
