A Scott Police Officer monitoring traffic says a car drove by at 62 miles per hour in a 45 mile an hour zone on Westgate early this morning.

The officer says when he called 33-year-old Sherri Leblanc out of her car, she stumbled.

The officer says he smelled alcohol on the woman, and she was swaying from side to side while he spoke with her.

The woman told the officer her driver's license was suspended.

When the officer asked if Leblanc would submit to a Field Sobriety Test, she said she would do the test, but that she would not pass the test.

Police say Leblanc finished one part of the test, but then told the officer "just take me to jail".

Officers say as they began to put her into the back of a patrol car she pushed against the officer, and tried to to block herself from being put in the car.

At the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office, police say Leblanc blew a .182 on the breathalyzer test.

Leblanc has been charged with the following:

  • Speeding
  • Driving Under Suspension
  • OWI 1st Offense
  • Resisting An Officer
