Erath Man Registers Twice The Legal Limit In OWI Bust

Scott Police investigating a crash at the corner of Renaud and Elmira Sunday night found a car in a roadside ditch. The driver, 50 year old Phuoc Nguyen of Erath exhibited signs of intoxication and consented to a field sobriety test which he failed. Nguyen was taken to the Lafayette Police Department for a chemical breath test where he registered a blood/alcohol concentration of  (point one eight).18 percent, more than twice the legal limit. Nguyen was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center for OWI, open alcohol container in a vehicle and careless operation.
