Flooding in the low-lying areas of Lower St. Martin Parish has forced parish officials to close one of the major roads in the area.

The Stephensville Road is closed at its intersection with LA 70 because of flooding. Bayou Estates Subdivision is also closed to all non-resident traffic because of high waters. In addition, Adell Street, Edna Street, and Landry Road remain closed. Drivers should not try to drive on flooded roads. Drivers who drive around barricades placed on flooded roads will be ticketed.

Sandbag are still available at Stephensville Park, in Belle River across from the fire station, and at 1473 East Stephensville Road.

A no-wake zone remains in effect for all of Lower St. Martin Parish.
