Places in Louisiana You Are Most Likely to Encounter Bigfoot
(KTDY) - For years, we've heard reports from people in Louisiana that they've seen or encountered Bigfoot, yet no one has any visible evidence of the elusive creature.
Is Bigfoot roaming through the "Bayou State," or are the stories and reports of its sighting inaccurate? I'll let you be the judge and jury on that one.
However, those who have been tracking the mysterious creature for generations say that Louisiana has everything Bigfoot needs to survive. Experts have said that, with so many wooded and swampy areas in the state, this is an ideal habitat for the elusive creature to thrive. Plus, with the abundance of wildlife in Louisiana, Bigfoot would have plenty of sources for food, if he or she is really here.
As a matter of fact, a couple of weeks ago, we were driving across the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge when someone in my vehicle noted that there were probably creatures in the swamp we never knew existed, and I agree. But is Bigfoot in the swamp?
So, upon returning home, I looked up where the best chance you have to see Bigfoot in Louisiana is, if he or she is really here, and some places may or may not surprise you.
Bigfoot Sightings in Louisiana
One place you'd have to visit in Louisiana if you hope to see Bigfoot is the Kisatchie National Forest, located primarily in Natchitoches, Grant, and Sabine parishes. We've heard many reports of sightings near the Dugdemona River in that part of the state, and many have even labeled it "Ground Zero" for Bigfoot sightings in Louisiana.
Another area you can visit in "Sportsman's Paradise" is the Lake Charles-Westlake area. Recently, we reported on a sighting in that area, where a woman cutting grass said she saw Bigfoot on her property.

The Slidell area also seems to be another "hot spot" for Bigfoot sightings. Specifically in the area of the Honey Island Swamp.
Lastly, if you ever hope to catch a glimpse of the huge bipedal creature in Louisiana, you need to visit the Northwest portion of the state in Claiborne and Webster Parishes. There have been numerous reports of the foul-smelling creature lurking in that area of our state.
So, there it is, the four areas of the state you need to visit if you're serious about locating and seeing Bigfoot in Louisiana. Just remember, if you do go staking out the elusive creature, make sure your phone is charged, as we'd hate for you to encounter Bigfoot and have your phone die.
