Shocking: Priest Allegedly Bites Woman During Communion.

A confrontation between a woman attending mass and a priest has each of them sharing their version of what happened. The woman went to the police saying the priest bit her during communion according to WFTV.

According to the report, the priest, Father Fidel, told officers he did bite the woman but that he did so to defend the body of Christ. A witness stated she thought it might have been because of the way the woman was dressed and/or her sexual orientation.

The priest says he did not know this woman and her sexuality had nothing to do with what happened. He says the woman did not seem like she was familiar with the process of holy communion.

The woman came to an earlier service of mass at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in St. Cloud, Florida, and she was denied communion according to what she told police officers.

The woman returned for another mass and she claims this is when the event happened.

In the bodycam video of the woman she can be heard saying the following

He wouldn't give me the cookie. I don't know if it was the way I was dressed or what is that I like.

The woman reported the incident to police who also spoke to the priest associated with the incident. He admitted he did bite her.

He says she reached out and attempted to grab the communion tray from him.

Police have recommended that the man be booked for battery. If he is charged and convicted, according to Florida statute, he could be sentenced to up to a year in jail and fined up to $1,000.

The witness to what happened described what they saw to police officers,

Allegedly, the priest tried to forcefully shove the wafer in her mouth. According to the witness, she backed up and said "No, don't do that." Then she tried to grab the communion with her hand and that is when he went crazy.

The priest told officers,

The priest says the confrontation happened when the woman tried to grab the wafer out of his hand, telling police he was protecting the wafer because it is considered the body of Christ.
