
I-10 Westbound Re-Opened After Tractor-Trailer Fire on Basin Bridge
UPDATE (1/17/26, 11:25 a.m.) - The cleanup is complete, and all lanes are now open on I-10 westbound at mile marker 131.
WEST BATON ROUGE PARISH, La. (KMDL-FM) - An overnight crash on the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge in West Baton Rouge Parish involving a tractor-trailer has closed I-10 westbound while crews clean up.
What We Know About the Crash
The crash occurred before midnight on Friday, January 16, 2026, resulting in severe fire damage to the tractor-trailer. According to Louisiana State Troop A, cleanup crews and troopers are still on the scene at milepost 131.

Current Traffic Conditions and Detours
The westbound lanes remain closed while cleanup efforts continue.
Traffic is being diverted at the LA 415 exit in West Baton Rouge Parish. Traffic traveling west should use US 190 as an alternative route to bypass the Atchafalaya Basin.
