What's Happening With Kohl's?

The popular chair department store, Kohl's, focuses largely on clothing but also has a wide selection of accessories and homewares. But 27 of its stores currently qualify as "underperforming," and the Wisconsin-based company has made the decision to shut them down.

The company did report about a 6 percent decrease in revenue in 2024, a sign that there might be more trouble on the ay unless they can turn some things around at their stores.

A Texas Store in the Crosshairs

Texas has 89 locations, including multiple in Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio, among others. Luckily, only one of the stores in Texas is being impacted by the closures.

That store is located in north Dallas, located at 18224 Preston Rd.

The good news for the workers at the stores that are closing? Kohl's corporate is offering what it's calling "competitive" severance or the opportunity to transfer to other Kohl's locations.
