Lafayette Bridge Near UL Campus Closed Through October for Repairs
Lafayette Consolidated Government (LCG) has announced that there will be a temporary closure of the E. Lewis Street bridge crossing Coulee Mine to make necessary repairs.
That bridge is located on the UL campus right off Johnston Street.
The initial closure will occur from July 30 to August 15, 2024. This will allow for essential maintenance and ensure the safety and integrity of the bridge.
The bridge will then reopen to traffic from August 16 to August 18 in consideration of University of Louisiana move-in dates.
Following those dates, the bridge will close again on August 19 for approximately two months to complete the remaining repairs.
