Lafayette Man Arrested For Forcible Rape

Frederick Newman was arrested for the forcible rape and violation of a Lafayette woman. According to KLFY TV 10 the police affidavit says Newman forcibly raped the victim and then sexually violated her with a banana. After being attacked the woman fled to University Hospital where she was treated by a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner.

Newman is being held in the Lafayette Parish Correctional Facility without bond.
