Teenager Arrested In Fellow Teen’s Death (UPDATED)

UPDATE: A 15-year-old black male juvenile has been charged with Second Degree Murder in the shooting death of the 14-year-old victim. Lafayette Police say the suspect and victim were acquaintances.

Very few details are known at this time, but Lafayette Police are investigating after a 14-year-old male received a fatal gunshot wound at around 9 o'clock last night.

Lafayette Police Spokesman Karl Ratcliff says this shooting happened in front of a house in the 100 block of Champagne Street.

The Lafayette Police Department is asking anyone who might have information to call their department or Lafayette Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
