
Two Arrested In Lafayette Winsor Drive Homicide Investigation
The Lafayette Police Department has released new details in a homicide investigation on the 100 block of Winsor Drive in Lafayette.
Officers responded to the area on February 11, 2026, at approximately 5:04 p.m. after receiving reports of an unresponsive man lying in a driveway. When officers arrived, they determined the victim was deceased from apparent gunshot wounds.
Authorities identified the victim as Clarence Hypolite, 23, of Lafayette.
Police Say Shooting Happened During Suspected Drug Deal
According to investigators, Hypolite was shot while inside a vehicle during what police described as an attempt to conduct a narcotics transaction.
Detectives say the suspects then removed the victim from the vehicle and placed him in a nearby driveway. While fleeing the scene, authorities say the suspects struck the victim with their vehicle.
A crime scene was established as investigators gathered evidence and worked to identify those responsible.

Two Suspects Arrested After Vehicle Located
Police say a swift response and examination of evidence led investigators to identify the suspect vehicle. Authorities later located the vehicle in Jennings, Louisiana, leading to the arrest of two suspects.
Investigators identified the suspects as Xzavier Dyson, 27, and Martina Mouton, 21. Both have been charged with one count of first-degree murder.
The suspects were booked into the Jefferson Davis Parish jail and are awaiting extradition back to Lafayette.

The Lafayette Police Department says the investigation remains active and additional details could be released as the case develops.
