It's no secret that folks are struggling right now.  If you haven't had to make some hard decisions when it comes to bills, food, or other necessities - count yourself as blessed.  While most are figuring out a way to make considerably less money cover the essentials, some are coming up quite a bit shorter than that.

According to data from the U.S. Census Bureau, some states are doing better than others.  Unfortunately, the Sportsman's Paradise is at the top of the list of states who are struggling the most.

U.S. News and World Report crunched the data from the latest edition of the Household Pulse Survey.  This bi-weekly check on how the residents of each state are coping with the ongoing pandemic crisis shows that out of all of the states in the Union - Louisiana and Mississippi are having the hardest time.  The report clearly shows that folks in these two states are struggling the most with things like high rates of food, housing , and financial insecurity in recent weeks.

More than 22% of Louisianans have reported that there was "either sometimes or often not enough to eat in their household over the past seven days."  45% said that it was harder than usual or impossible to pay normal household bills right now because of the pandemic.

If you are not hurting or struggling right now, it might be a good time to check on your neighbor, volunteer with a organization trying to alleviate these heartbreaking stresses, or donate to such an organization.
