LAFAYETTE, La. (KPEL News) - The internet offers children an unfiltered view of the world, but it also presents serious dangers. Online predators use technology to target and exploit minors, making it more critical than ever for parents to monitor their children's activities and take protective measures.

Agents with Attorney General Liz Murrill’s Louisiana Bureau of Investigation have arrested a Houma man in Lafayette following an undercover online chat operation targeting crimes against minors.

Arrest Details

Richard Charles Tujague, 56, of Ann Carol Street in Houma, was taken into custody on March 6, 2025. He faces the following charges:

  • Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile (LA R.S. 14:81)
  • Computer-Aided Solicitation of a Minor (LA R.S. 14:81.3)

Authorities say Tujague engaged in an online conversation with someone he believed to be a minor—but was actually an undercover agent.

Coordinated Effort Led to the Arrest

The arrest resulted from a joint investigation involving:

  • Louisiana Bureau of Investigation Cyber Crime Unit
  • Homeland Security Investigations
  • Covington Police Department
  • Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office

Tujague, who was working in Lafayette at the time, was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center as a fugitive from St. Tammany Parish. He will be transferred there for formal booking at a later date.

As of now, bond details remain unknown, and officials confirm that the investigation is still ongoing.
