Louisiana Oyster Harvest Reopened

The state of Louisiana has reopened 2 oyster harvesting areas that have been closed since December.

The Department of Health & Hospitals announced areas 6 & 7 are open as of Wednesday morning. They're located east of the Mississippi.

AP reports, Wildlife & Fisheries closed Louisiana waters to oyster harvesting December 15th, due to the presence of red tide. Areas 1-5 remain closed.
