Louisiana’s Jovin Webb Eliminated on ‘American Idol’ [VIDEO]
Louisiana was front and center on the May 10th episode of 'American Idol', but it wasn't enough to keep Gonzales native Jovin Webb in the singing competition's Top 7. The 29 year old Baton Rouge resident was eliminated on the Mother's Day edition of the wildly popular show, after some stellar performances earlier in the competition.
Webb, who earlier in the season was joined by two other Louisiana natives, Faith Becnel from Destrehan, and Robert Taylor III from Donaldsonville, posted a sweet video (below) thanking his fans on Facebook after the show last night. According to the Advocate, Webb stated "It's kind of bittersweet, but I'm so thankful for the people in Louisiana and around the world that's been showing their love for me. The cool thing is it's not done yet. I didn't make Top 7, but I shall be in the finale. Get ready. The songs did not stop."
Another Louisiana native was featured last night on the show as well. Livingston's Laine Hardy, who was last year's winner, sang Rascal Flatt's 'Life is a Highway'. Hardy will also be performing on the season finale May 15th with another Bayou State superstar, Lafayette's own Lauren Daigle. We are certainly looking forward to big things from our home state contestants!
