Port Barre police and St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s officials arrested a 16-year-old in connection with the November 14th burglary of a Port Barre residence. A home on Hazel Street was burglarized on November 14th. Several firearms, a game system, smartphones, and other items were taken from the residence.

The 16-year-old minor was arrested Saturday morning at a residence on the 200 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. A small amount of marijuana and other contraband items were found in the home.

37-year-old Hayward Jones was arrested on charges of marijuana possession, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of schedule IV narcotics. The juvenile's parents, 43-year-old Cornelius Hardy Senior, and 38-year-old LyBeth Hardy face charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
