One Man Arrested–One Man Wanted in St. Landry Parish
Sheriff Bobby Guidroz says St. Landry Parish deputies were conducting proactive patrols due to recent armed robberies in the Evangeline Subdivision which led to the arrest of Thaddeus Shakesneider.
Deputies observed a large crowd arguing with occupants inside of a vehicle parked in the middle of Emerald Drive. When deputies approached the vehicle, they were able to detain the driver and identify him as Shakesneider while two other occupants fled from the vehicle.
Deputies also located an AK-47 mini style pistol also known as “Draco” on the floorboard of the vehicle.
Thaddeus Shakesneider was subsequently arrested. One of the subjects who fled the vehicle was later identified as Patrick Chambers who deputies were informed had outstanding warrants on him.
Additional weapon charges are expected after the investigation is complete.
