Even with school not in session, at least in person, an Opelousas Junior High teacher has managed to find himself on the wrong side of the law because of something that was alleged to have happened between himself and at least one student at the school.

KATC TV is reporting that  Toranza Arive of Ville Platte was taken into custody and charged with Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile. Police say the arrest of Arive was the result of an investigation that began with a complaint by a parent.

Apparently the parents of Arive's victim noticed the inappropriate nature of text message sent to their daughter. The parents took the complaint to the proper authorities and the investigation began.

Police say Arive's messages to the juvenile had nothing to do with school or related schoolwork. The 57-year-old is currently on leave from his job without pay pending the results of the final police investigation. Police in Opelousas do suggest there could be more charges brought against Arive, especially if more victims come forward.
