Pedestrian Dies After Being Hit By Train

A pedestrian was killed late Friday night after being hit by a train in New Iberia.

Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office spokesman Maj. Ryan Turner reported the 55-year-old man was hit as he was crossing the train tracks at Gonzales and West Main Streets last night around 11 p.m.

The victim's identity has not yet been released.

Turner said investigators do not suspect foul play.

The investigation is ongoing.
