Rape Investigation Leads To St. Martinville Man’s Arrest

The St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office booked Scotty Bernard Gaudin Jr. yesterday after an investigation in a six-month-old rape case led to his arrest.

Sheriff's Spokesperson Ginny Higgins reported the the 20-year-old man from St. Martinville was charged with simple rape following the release of evidence analysis stemming from an incident that occurred last December.

After receiving the analysis reports last week, investigators obtained an arrest warrant. They arrested Gaudin Friday afternoon when he was subsequently booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center. His bond was set at $15,000.
