Rapides Couple Arrested In Child Abuse Case

A second arrest was made in a child abuse case in Rapides Parish on Jan. 22.

According to our news partner KATC, 32-year-old Christopher David Moreau of Pineville was booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center on one count of cruelty to juveniles. His arrest came only one week after his girlfriend, Kayla Clare Blanchard, was arrested for cruelty to juveniles and domestic abuse battery.

An investigation into some unexplained injuries on a child led to Blanchard's January 15th arrest. Information obtained during the investigation led officials to believe that Moreau was also responsible for some of the child's injuries.

Both Blanchard and Moreau have since been released on bond.
