Festival International De Louisiane will kick off this Wednesday, April 22 in downtown Lafayette.

The Lafayette Police Department says there will be some areas where no parking will be allowed because of some of the festivities.

There will be parking restrictions in these areas, and they are as follows:

  • Wednesday, April 22, no parking will be allowed on Jefferson Street between Lee Avenue and Main Street between 4 p.m. and 4 a.m.
  • Thursday, April 23, police will have barricades on Jefferson Street between Johnston and Cypress Streets.  No parking will be allowed on that part of Jefferson Street.  These barricades will remain up through April 26.

Some other reminders from police are that glass containers are prohibited, and you must have your animals on a leash.
