Nine students in Louisiana were sent to the hospital on Thursday afternoon after the bus they were on was involved in an accident.

According to WAFB,  nine students in Livingston Parish were transported to a local hospital after their bus was rear-ended by a truck.

In all, there were 24 students aboard the bus when the truck hit it and nine were taken to the medical facility with non-life threatening injuries.

The Baton Rouge news station reports that the school bus was on its afternoon route when the truck hit it and the bus sustained an extensive amount of damage to its rear section.

Still, the bus driver was able to drive the bus to the school district's maintenance yard.

The bus that was hit services the following schools, Live Oak High School and Live Oak Junior High.
