St. Martin Parish Sheriff's deputies have arrested an Arnaudville woman for stealing some flowers from a cemetery in Cecelia.

Deputies arrested 42-year-old Rhonda Lagrange Friday morning for stealing flowers from the St. Joseph's Catholic Church Cemetery.

She was booked into the St. Landry Parish Jail on Sunday on a charge of simple burglary for stealing the flowers.

Officials with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office will investigate Lagrange further as there were several incidents like this back in December, and officials say there were even these types of incidents that were not reported to the Sheriff's office.

Deputies from both the St. Landry and St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Offices had a search warrant and when they went to her home, they found all kinds of things they believe she stole including the following:

  • Religious statures
  • Vases
  • Religious memorabilia
  • Flower arrangements
  • Silk flowers

If you were the victim of stolen items, you should call the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office at 337-394-3071.

If you have a tip about these crimes, you can give this information anonymously by calling the St. Martin Parish Crime Stoppers line at 337-441-3030.
