UPDATE: 18-year-old Michale Washington of Lafayette has turned himself in to Lafayette Police detectives. He's been booked on a charge of 2nd Degree Murder.

UPDATE: The Lafayette Police Department has announced the arrest of 29-year-old Freddie Ivory of Lafayette for the shooting death from last night.

Lafayette Police Department Spokeswoman Bridgette Dugas says booked on a charge of Second Degree Murder.

He was arrested at an area apartment complex.

Dugas says they are still investigating this shooting death, and she adds that more arrests are possible.

There has been another shooting death in Lafayette.

Officers with the Lafayette Police Department were called out to the intersection of Cora Street and Martine Luther King Jr. Drive.

When the officer got to the scene they found a man who had been injured after being shot.

While the victim was taken to a hospital, Ronald Taylor Jr. later died from his injury.

Police say they have started an investigation, and they are asking for tips about the shooting.

If you know anything about the shooting at the intersection of Cora and Martin Luther King at around 6:30 Monday night, you are asked to contact the Lafayette Crime Stoppers Line at 337-232-TIPS (8477).

Any information that is given via the Crime Stoppers line or the P3 app is given confidentially.

The victim was 24-years-old.
