Shooting Outside of Louisiana High School Leaves One Injured
Police in Bossier City, Louisiana are investigating a shooting outside of Bossier High School.
The shooting occurred during the school's spirit night (Aug 19) after a 43-year-old man got into an altercation with a group of juveniles.
According to KSLA, Anthony Hughes was shot by another man, Marcus Kelly, 32, while he was fighting with a group of juveniles in a school parking lot.
Hughes was allegedly shot in the torso by Kellly, and both men fled the scene in their vehicles after the shooting.
Once deputies were able to catch up to the vehicle Kelly was driving, Hughes, the man who was shot, rammed Kellly's vehicle with his own.
According to the report, Kelly was arrested and charged with the following:
- attempted second-degree murder
- illegal possession of a firearm by a felon
- possession of a firearm on a school campus
As for Anthony Hughes, he was sent to a hospital for treatment and is expected to be arrested upon his release from the medical facility. KSLA reports that he will be charged with aggravated criminal property damage.
The Bossier Sheriff’s Office says that no student was involved in the shooting and no student was injured when shots were fired near the stadium.
