Suspect Arrested After A Cankton Home Invasion & Robbery
Two weeks ago a man woke up in his Billeaux Road in Cankton to find two men armed with guns.
The victim was beaten up, and the suspects also restrained his hands behind his back. He even heard the suspects planning to cut his throat. He was then able to break free and run for help.
Captain Megan Vizena with the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office says a tip to the St. Landry Parish Crime Stoppers line led to the arrest of 28-year-old Shane P. Pomier of Carencro.
Vizena says,
"On May 18, St. Landry Crime Stoppers received a tip stating that Shane Pomier was one of the subjects involving in the home invasion. A photo line-up was presented to the victim and he was able to successfully identify Pomier as one of his attackers. With the help of the United States Marshall's Office and Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Divison, Pomier was taken into custody with no incident."
Pomier has been arrested on the following charges:
- Home invasion
- Armed robbery
- False imprisonment with a deadly weapon
- Attempted first degree murder
Pomier is currently being held in the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Jail on a $500,000 bond.
