A Texas father was stunned and brought to tears after an unexpected random act of kindness at a restaurant where he was having breakfast with his children.

Being a dad, or any parent for that matter, must be the most challenging job on the planet, and it may feel thankless most of the time, but for a Texas dad, someone was watching and ensuring he knew he was doing a great job. According to a Fox News story, the gesture brought emergency room physician Dr. J Mack Slaughter to tears for the act of random kindness.

What Happened And Where Did It Happen?

Dr. Slaughter was with his wife and three children at Mimi's Cafe in Fort Worth, Texas, when someone they didn't know shared from their heart about what they saw.

The family was there doing what families do all the time. Instead of someone cooking at home, they went out to grab some food, and in this instance, they grabbed some breakfast.

As the children sat at the table, Slauther played a game of dots with the kids while they were waiting for their food to come.

The Slaughter Family Had Their Bill Taken Care Of By A Stranger

When they asked for the bill, Slaughter was handed a receipt with a note on the front and the back.

You never know who is watching you in a restaurant, and when you have kids, you aren't focused on other people; you are focused on your children.

On the front of the receipt was written,

Thank you for being a great dad!

But that wasn't all. The person had paid for the family's tab for breakfast. Someone paid the bill of $85.21. And left something else written on the back of the receipt, which read,

From a dad to a dad. Thank you for being the dad they need you to be regardless of who's watching. We need more men like you. Thank you for letting us all see your love for them all.

Signed,

A retired Army medic.
