The longest red light in America is located in West Milford, New Jersey. It's at the intersection of Route 23 and Clinton Avenue. It's actually two traffic lights with a combined wait time of about 5 minutes, 30 seconds.

The two red lights are timed to last up to two minutes 45 seconds. The green light only lasts only 8 seconds.

New Jersey Department of Transportation has received hundreds of complaints about the red lights but has no plans to change or alter the two traffic light's timing. They are both adjusted to ease rush hour traffic.

Residents in the area of Clinton Avenue and Route 23 waste approximately 20 hours a year at the infamous, yet, unpopular traffic signals.

According to the New York Times, the second-longest red light in America is in Delaware. That one will eat up about 4 minutes of your time.
