Lafayette experienced widespread flash flooding this morning as heavy rains from a stationary weather system brought significant rainfall across the area.

The downpours led to road closures, school cancellations, and disruptions for many in the community. Several homes and businesses reported flooding, and motorists found themselves stranded on impassable streets.

As the rain tapers off, Lafayette residents are beginning to assess the impact, though floodwaters are still affecting some areas. Below, we’re sharing a gallery of videos from locals capturing the scene across the city.

This gallery will be updated in real-time as more footage comes in, giving an ongoing view of the situation.

We encourage everyone to stay alert and avoid any areas still affected by high water.
