Lafayette experienced widespread flash flooding this morning as heavy rains from a stationary weather system brought significant rainfall across the area.

The downpours led to road closures, school cancellations, and disruptions for many in the community. Several homes and businesses reported flooding, and motorists found themselves stranded on impassable streets.
