These types of tests on fire hydrants happen in all towns and cities so that official can make sure there is an adequate amount of water flowing through their hydrants.

In their announcement on Facebook, the city said the following:

"We are required every year to perform preventative maintenance and flow testing to make sure the water flow rate is adequate for that area. The rating company that rates us every four years which determines your insurance rates for homeowners insurance, wants to make sure that this is done annually."

If you or someone you know lives in the Youngsville area, be sure to share this information with others so that they, too are aware of the water conditions in the days ahead.
