Brian Keith Harris has been indicted for the murder of 37-year-old John Paul Batiste in October, according to our news partners at KATC.

Batiste, from Arnaudville, was found on Philomine Street after suffering multiple gunshot wounds, which he later died from at a local hospital. Once Harris was identified as a suspect, Lafayette Police say he turned himself in.

The 18-year-old, who remains in the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center in lieu of $500,000 bond, faces a mandatory sentence of life in prison if convicted. He’s been charged with second-degree murder.
