Acadia Parish Sheriff K.P. Gibson says, via press release, that they are investigating a shooting incident that happened on I-10 eastbound yesterday just before 6 o'clock.

Sheriff Gibson says one person was shot, and that person is now in stable condition.

As they worked to gather information, investigators learned that the victim's car was eastbound on I-10 when another car came up next to them, and the shots were fired. This whole situation happened near mile marker 72.

Other shots ended up hitting the vehicle. The suspect's vehicle is dark in color and it's said to be more recently manufactured. That's it. That's all the information the officers have to go on. There is no suspect description that is available.

What sparked the shooting? Sheriff Gibson says they don't know the reason why this shooting happened.
