Acadiana Teen Dies In Crash
Louisiana State Police Troop I Spokesman Trooper Thomas Gossen says 17-year-old Matthew Kilbarger of Mamou died after his van ran off the roadway and flipped several times early this morning.
Gossen says that Kilbarger lost control of the vehicle in a curve in the roadway, and the van ended up flipping after leaving the roadway of Louisiana Highway 95.
The young man was pronounced dead at the scene by the Evangeline Parish Coroner. He was not wearing a seat belt.
The trooper says that Kilbarger was partially ejected for the van.
This crash happened at around 2 o'clock this morning near Comfort Lane.
Gossen says that routine toxicology tests are pending in connection with the case.
