A two vehicle crash on Louisiana Highway 14 ended up claiming the life a New Iberia woman yesterday.

State Police Troop I Spokesman Thomas Gossen says that 83-year-old Joyce Falgout failed to stop at a stop sign when she was coming from Claude Viator Road.

Falgout was buckled up at the time of the crash, but the woman was later pronounced dead from her injuries.

The driver of the other car was also buckled up, and that person ended up with moderate injuries due to the crash.

Routine toxicology tests are being performed on both drivers, and the crash is still under investigation.

The crash happened just after 3 o'clock Tuesday afternoon.
