BINGO Event Marks Longest Day, Raises Awareness
Alzheimer’s Association of Acadiana team Mergist is hoping to break a record today in Crowley. A core team of 6 people are playing BINGO for 24 hours. They started at 3pm yesterday and will finish today at that time.
The event is spearheaded by SLCC Marketing Director Christine Payton and Michelle Veillon from Elder Outreach. Players survived the overnight hours with fun and a big celebration at the 12 hour mark.
It’s all about raising awareness about Alzheimer’s Disease on the longest day of the year- the summer solstice. Alzheimer’s is often referred to as the longest goodbye.
