Church Point Man Dead After Crash

A one vehicle crash on Louisiana Highway 35 near Homer Richard Road took the life of 25-year-old Darry Carringon.

Louisiana State Police Troop I Spokesman Thomas Gossen says they don't know if Carrington was driving or the other man in the car, 24-year-old Lawarance Leday of St. Martinville.

Around 10 o'clock last, the car there were in went off the road into a ditch, and it ended up flipping over.

Carrington died at the scene, and Leday was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries.

Neither of these men was wearing a seat belt last night.

Routine toxicology tests are pending.
