UPDATE: (Associated Press) Fire crews say they've extinguished a blaze inside an ExxonMobil refinery that turned the night sky a shade of orange and sent a large plume of smoke into the air over Baton Rouge, Louisiana. No injuries were reported.

It wasn't immediately clear what caused the fire that began late Tuesday night. ExxonMobil says it responded to the situation and is monitoring the air quality. A spokesman for the Baton Rouge Fire Department says there is no off-site impact.

The refinery is the fifth largest in the United States.

Baton Rouge fire officials say there appear to be no outside impacts as a result of the fire. Officials with the plant and with city and state government agencies are monitoring the situation as it continues to unfold. There have been no injuries reported in the blaze.

You might recall this same facility was rocked with a series of significant explosions on New Year's Eve of 1989. One person was killed in the 1989 incident.
