Shooting in Lafayette Leaves Woman in Critical Condition
The Lafayette Police Department is once again investigating a shooting that happened in the Hub City.
This time the shooting happened in the 100 block of Lena Street near North Pierce Street Sunday evening close to 6:30.
Lafayette Police Department Sergeant Robin Green, who is a spokeswoman for the department says police are working to figure out what preceded the event when a man shot a 28-year-old woman.
As they were responding to the shooting in progress, Green says officers found the woman who was taken to a hospital. She is said to be in stable, but critical condition.
What detectives do know at this time, is that the woman, the shooter, and another individual were fighting about something prior to the shooting.
Police officials are looking for information or leads in reference to this case. Detectives are continuing interviews to find out what they can about the case.
