Early Morning Shooting in Lafayette Sends Two to Hospital

A Shooting in the 2000 block of the Northwest Evangeline Thruway early Monday morning has reportedly sent two people to a local hospital with gunshot wounds. KLFY Television reported via its website that the incident took place at 12:30 Monday morning.

According to the TV stations post the two victims each suffered gunshot wounds. But according to Sargent Wayne Griffin, the victim's injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Popular local social media Facebook page My Hood Lit post the following video. It appears that several people were looting a store off the Evangeline Thruway called CitiTrends and then at some point the gunfire began.

Police are asking that anyone with information on this morning's incident to contact them directly or they may offer anonymous information by calling Lafayette Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS (8477).
