A 29-year-old Elton woman was killed early Sunday morning as the result of a crash on Interstate 10.

According to Louisiana State Police Troop I spokesperson Brooks David, Emily Tramel was apparently driving her car west on Interstate 10 near milepost 68 in Acadia Parish when she crashed into another car from behind.

After the crash Tramel drove her car off the right side of the road and crashed into some trees.

Tramel was not wearing a seat belt at the time of crash and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Acadia Parish Sheriff's Office.

The driver of the other car suffered only minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
