Fifty two year old John Bourque of Eunice was arrested in the early morning hours after allegedly dousing one victim with gasoline and setting him on fire before setting a home on fire.

The victims said Bourque was banging on the door of the home at 241 East Oak Avenue claiming to be looking for his girl friend. When the door was opened he allegedly threw gasoline on the person who opened the door. The victim pushed Bourque out of the home and locked the door. At that point the house was set on fire. Bourque was caught two blocks away with a red gasoline container that was seized as evidence. Bourque was charged with four counts of attempted 1st degree murder, aggravated arson and criminal damage to property. Bourque is housed in the Eunice jail and bond has been set at $502,500.
