Eunice Man Dies In Crash On U.S. Highway 190
Louisiana State Police report that a man lost his life after a crash Thursday evening on U.S. Highway 190 at Beck Miller Road near Eunice.
Steven Gallow, a thirty-six year-old man near Eunice, died as a result of the crash.
Investigators say 26-year-old Katherine Blanchard was westbound on U.S. Highway 190 and was attempting to turn left onto Beck Miller road. While trying to turn, her car was hit by 20-year-old Jersawky Thomas who was driving on the eastbound side of the roadway.
Katherine Blanchard was not wearing a seat belt, and she had minor injuries along with her juvenile passenger who was wearing a seat belt.
Jersawky Thomas was buckled up and has only minor injuries, while his front seat passenger, 34-year-old Joshua Dupre had on his seatbelt , and he had moderate injuries.
Thomas' backseat passenger, Steven Gallow, was not wearing a seat belt, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
While impairment is not suspected of being a factor in this traffic crash, routine toxicology samples were taken to be sent to the Louisiana State Police Crime lab.
Katherine Blanchard was cited for failure to yield at a stop sign, and not wearing a seat belt. Investigators will continue looking into the crash and more charges could be added at a later date.
