Former LSU President Offers Resignation From Oregon State
F. King Alexander has agreed to step down as the president of Oregon State University effective April 1.
The Oregon State University Board of Trustees announced that Alexander offered that resignation amid the fallout from his handling of sexual misconduct cases at LSU during a special meeting this morning.
Just last week, the trustees of Oregon State placed Alexander on a 10-week probation as punishment for his lack of action. After issuing that probation, the trustees ordered Alexander to draft a plan to regain the trust of a student body and faculty that believed Alexander prioritized athletics over student safety.
The Oregon State trustees are meeting in executive session to discuss whether they should accept Alexander's resignation. They are expected to reconvene in regular session around Noon Central Time to announced their decision.
