One thing we've noticed here at the radio station in regard to the Stay-at-Home order is the fact that crashes and congestion on I-10 have certainly been decreased. However, last night in St. Martin Parish that was not the case as State Police reported a multiple vehicle incident near milepost 107 in the eastbound lanes.

The crash shut down the eastbound lanes of I-10 for several hours as crews worked to clean up the crash site. For awhile traffic was being diverted from I-10 to I-49 and U.S. 190. Shortly after 11 pm, we received a report that the interstate had been reopened and that traffic was once again flowing in the eastbound lanes.

State Police have released few details of the incident other than to confirm that there was one fatality in the incident and the crash did not involve any commercial vehicles. We expect to get more details on the cause of the crash and the identity of the victim later today.
