Gas Leak, Fire Closes Highway Near Iota

ACADIA PARISH--A gas leak and building fire has forced officials to close the Des Cannes Highway (LA 98) west of Iota.

According to the Acadia Parish Sheriff's Office, the highway is closed between Mamou Prairie Road and Natural Springs Road. Drivers must take a detour route. No word yet on injuries.
