A former teacher of the year at Jimtown High School in Elkhart, Indiana has been let go from his job and subsequently arrested following an incident involving a student. 61-year-old Michael Hosinski reportedly assaulted the student on February 25, 2022.
Footage from the incident shows that everything happened in the hallway. A student can be seen exiting a classroom, followed quickly by the teacher involved. Two other individuals observed as the teacher chased after the student.
The teacher grabbed a hold of the student and pushed him towards the wall. This is when video shows Hosinksi deliver an open-handed slap to the student's face.
